Nutraceutical Interventions to Treat Frailty in Older Adults with Cancer

Frailty, a syndrome linked to aging and low physiologic reserve, poses a significant challenge for older adults with cancer. Inflammation plays a key role in frailty and predicts post-treatment outcomes in cancer patients. Interventions targeting inflammation could potentially alleviate frailty and enhance outcomes. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), found in green tea, shows promise as an anti-inflammatory intervention for frailty, offering low toxicity compared to traditional drugs. We’re studying the safety, feasibility, and efficacy of EGCG in reducing frailty and immune responses among older cancer survivors
